Maddison is a Wiradjuri and Bundjalung woman born and raised on Dharug Country.
Biography:

A graduate of Newtown High School of the Performing Arts and NAISDA Dance College, Maddison was also the recipient of the Bangarra’s 2020 Russell Page Professional Development Scholarship, which offered her the opportunity to study with the Sydney Dance Company’s Pre-Professional Year. While at school she was part of the NSW Department of Education’s Aboriginal Dance Company working with Sidney Saltner and the Bangarra Youth Programs team.

Since joining Bangarra in 2021, Maddison has performed in seminal works including Spirit by Stephen Page, Terrain, Wudjang: Not the Past, Horizon and Illume. A personal highlight for Maddison was her return to Country trips for both SandSong and Yuldea. Maddison is passionate about connecting with First Nations youth, as a way of inspiring the next generation, as Bangarra inspired her when she was a young dancer.

“To be able educate about my culture and tell stories through dance has always been my goal and the opportunity to do that as a member of Bangarra Dance Theatre is chance to grow as an artist and contribute to the company’s important work.”
