We are excited to announce the return of Dance Clan in 2024. We invite early-mid career Indigenous designers, specialising in costume, set and lighting, to apply for a role in our creative team and join the next generation of Indigenous creatives.
Dance Clan ignites a new wave of Indigenous storytellers through the creation of a season of short new dance works created by Bangarra artists in collaboration with a team of emerging Indigenous composers and designers. These new works will premiere at The Studio Theatre at Bangarra on Gadigal Country in December 2024.
Successful applicants will collaborate with emerging Indigenous choreographers while being mentored by experienced industry professionals. This is an opportunity to develop creative practice through Indigenous storytelling and the creation of new works within a supportive and culturally safe environment.
We encourage designers in regional and remote areas across Australia, as well as artists working in textiles, crafts and visual arts who may not necessarily identify as set and costume designers, to submit applications.
Creatives are paid a commission fee in instalments across the delivery of the work.
