BANGARRA DANCE THEATRE "THE DREAMING"
2003 REGIONAL AUSTRALIA TOUR

Regional audiences across Australia will get to experience the magic of Bangarra Dance Theatre first hand when they tour their stunning show The Dreaming in 2003. Bangarra will be performing in Wagga Wagga, Orange, Wollongong, Taree and Gosford throughout March and then will take The Dreaming to Alice Springs, Darwin, Canberra and regional centres in Queensland in August 2003.

Bangarra Dance Theatre is one of Australia's most exciting dance companies combining contemporary dance with Indigenous culture and tradition. Bangarra has built up an outstanding reputation for its distinctly spiritual and moving theatrical productions and has thrilled audiences around the world including a sell out tour of New York, Washington and the US east coast in 2001.

Steeped in the cultural heritage of Aboriginal people, Bangarra's performance of The Dreaming combines ancient myth with electrifying movement and music from the contemporary urban world. A work of raw and powerful beauty, The Dreaming journeys across Australia's sweeping landscapes and waters, and resonates with the spirit of the country and its people.

As Artistic Director, Stephen Page points out, "While we have performed to huge audiences around the world, Bangarra remains true to its roots and is committed to communities in regional areas of Australia. This tour provides a unique opportunity for people who don't get to the capital cities to see us perform."
